Drupal - No Statistics Available

I've been using the Drupal CMS for a while now, along with the core statistics package that's included (I realize Google Analytics has an edge over Drupal stats but I've got clients that prefer the simplicity of the Drupal statistics).

However, on this particular Drupal 5.x installation, the statistics seem to have disappeared. I can browse to the top pages, referrer logs, etc. but the pages are empty?

We actually had this happen a while back as well. I think part of the confusion is that the path to the statistic settings page changes from Drupal 4.x to 5.x and potentially again in 6.x.

I'm guessing you don't have your statistics gathering turned on. To do so, browse to the following locations based on your Drupal version (and assuming you have clean URL's (SEF Url's) turned on. If you don't, append ?q= to the path (ie. /admin/ becomes ?q=admin/):

For Drupal 4.x, browse to /admin/settings/statistics

For Drupal 5.x and 6.x, browse to /admin/logs/settings

Once there, enable the access log and decide on how many days you want to store stats. Note that on a busy site a large number of storage days will increase your overhead significantly.
