Just upgraded from Drupal 5 to 6, and everything appears to have gone smoothly. However, when I try and access nodewords (meta tag) settings, I don't see any tags to select under the tags to show on edit form and tags to output in HTML where I normally see them. What gives?

I can see how this could be a bit confusing. The key is enabling the basic meta tags module, in addition to the Nodewords module. Browse to admin/build/modules/list, down to Nodewords, and then place a check next to basic meta tags.

Incidentally, you can also check extra meta tags if you prefer, although the only tags we make use of for SEO purposes are the description and keyword tags. And the keyword tag is hardly necessary anymore. However, the description tag is useful because it illustrates what your article is about in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages, by providing a 255 character introduction to your article), and may entice users to click on your link.

Finally, make sure you save your configuration on your modules page to make the changes take effect.
