Spotify - The product is not available

    I'm trying to upgrade my Spotify free subscription to unlimited. When I click on "upgrade" within my Spotify destkop app, it takes me to spotify.com. From here, I should be able to choose "Unlimited" ($4.95/ month), "Premium" ($9.95/ month), or "Use Coupon."

    I see that with Unlimited, I can listen on my mobile phone as long as I have an Internet (or 3G) connection, so that's what I'm going for (just no offline listening, but having come from Pandora I don't need that anyways).

    The problem: regardless of which payment method I select, I get the error message (in red): "The product is not available."

    WTF! How are you going to make money Spotify if you won't even give me the chance to give you mine?

    I'm guessing you are in the U.S.? I'm having the same exact problem here (and I was going to go for the Premium subscription since Internet service on my drive to work is so shoddy). What a crock!

    So by clicking around on the buttons I finally got the "premium" subscription to go through - but guess what? I can't afford premium, I only want the "unlimited" subscription.

    Now, whenever I load the page, the "unlimited" option has disappeared. WTF Spotify??!! This is such a crock - I'm going back to Pandora.

    I had the same exact problem as you: the product is not available regardless of which subscription I chose, and then the "unlimited" option disappeared. But then guess what? I was so pi**ed that I browsed to (via Spotify desktop app) Help > Your Account so I could contact them and let them know what I thought.

    Well, right there on the front page it says "You are registered for Spotify Premium until 2011-10-15." But I never entered any payment method? It looks like they're giving me a two-day trial. Cool, but I still don't understand why the "unlimited" option would have gone away. If it's not back in two days I'm switching back to Pandora just like you.

    Follow up to my last comment - I now received an email from Spotify saying "we hope you're enjoying your free 48 hour trial" of Spotify Premium. Click the link below to extend it another 30 days. Sweet!
