Time Warner Tivo

    Does anyone else out there use Tivo with Time Warner? I can't believe how crappy the service is. I would say at least once a month the channels (particularly the SDV (switched digital) and HD) go gray and a valuable recording is interrupted or doesn't record.

    It seems that Time Warner is constantly making updates to SDV that screw over Tivo users, since we have to use a tuning adapter to get the channels to sync up.

    What is your experience with Tivo/ Time Warner? Is it worth staying? I'm almost ready to switch to DirecTV and say goodbye to Tivo...

    There's a Tivo community thread on tivocommunity.com that helps me sort out most issues. I know last night (6/16/10) they had a crazy update that moved most of the HD channels into the 1000's. That's no doubt partially responsible for the recent issues you've been experiencing.

    Since that was a major update I'm hoping that resolved some of the switched digital issues we've been experiencing (random gray screens on SDV channels)...

    I believe you're referring to this tivo community thread. Make sure you jump to the last page for the current entries. Usually if there's an outage, problem, channel change, etc. Time Warner/ Tivo users will be the first to post here and suggest a solution.
