I'm considering purchasing MS Office 2007 Home & Student since it's a lot more affordable than Office Standard and has the OneNote application, which I love (and I don't need Outlook - I use the open source Thunderbird/ Lightning instead).

My question is - I'm on a fairly new PC with a 64-bit O/S, so I try and obtain 64-bit software whenever possible (the performance difference is significant).

However, I'm unable to find a 64-bit Office edition, or any kind of mention of it on the Microsoft site?

When you install Office 2007, it will automatically install some x64 (64-bit) specific files to help improve performance, if you have a 64-bit processor.

I believe Office 2010 will have a dedicated 64-bit version...
