Open Office - Scrolling Column Headings?

Is there a way to set columns in Open Office so that they stay visible as you scroll down the page? Right now I have so much data that when I reach the bottom of the page and scroll, my column headings disappear.

I don't want to have to copy and paste the column headings every page, nor do I want to have to scroll up every time to check what column I'm putting data in.

I'm pretty sure there must be a way to make the column headings in Open Office fixed or something. Am I wrong?

Not at all. Simply highlight the rows of the column headings you want to freeze (stay on top as you scroll down), and then select the freeze option under the Window menu.

Note that in my case I need to select one extra row. In other words, if I select three rows, the top two will freeze and stay in place. Not sure why this works this way - I'm using Open Office 3.1.1.

Under Open Office 3.2.1, this is wrong.

You highlight the first row below the column headings and then go to Window -> Freeze.

In other words, to keep row 1 at the top as you scroll through the spreadsheet, you highlight row 2 and then do the Freeze action.

Thanks for that bG! I was wondering why the heck it wasn't working...

Wow, thanks. Was able to figure it out in excel but was totally confused by open office.
