Hello CWD forums users. I'm trying to clean up my PC and recently ran into the Apple mobile device support listing under "add/remove programs" in my Windows XP installation.

I'm guessing this is used to give remote support to Apple applications - such as iTunes, QuickTime, etc. I use these applications, but do not want to open a security hole by allowing others to remotely access these applications via my PC.

Is that what the Apple mobile device support driver will allow?

Apparently it's Spring PC cleaning here - I'm also trying to clean up my "add/ remove programs" list from useless crap. I don't have a Dell, unlike the other posters, but I do have Apple software such as iTunes, Quicktime, etc., and in my program list I see "Apple Mobile Device Support."

Do I need this or can I remove it? Ie. will I still be able to use iTunes and Quicktime or do these apps depend on the mobile device support? It sounds like something that lets someone else into your PC to help you when you have a problem, which is something I definitely don't need, and I imagine presents a security risk at the same time.
