Browse to your Start Menu and type "msconfig.exe" in the run box. Select the "Startup" tab and see if Look n Stop is listed there. If it is, and it's still not starting up, try manually adding it to the Windows "Startup" folder as follows.

Browse to Start Menu > All Folders > Startup. Create a shortcut of Look N Stop (type "Look N Stop" into the run box, then right-click and "send to desktop" will create a shortcut). Move the LNS shortcut into the Windows Startup folder.

Upon reboot you should see LNS start. If not, please post back.

Do you have LNS set to "run as administrator" (Right-click > Properties > Compatibility > "Run as Administrator")? If so, that might be causing the issue, and it won't have the necessary permissions to run on startup.

I'm running Windows 7 O/S (64-bit) with Look N Stop (LNS) 64-bit firewall (which I love - it's rule-based and very lightweight). But recently, when I reboot my PC, Look N Stop won't startup. The first time I didn't notice it hadn't started until several weeks of being online (yikes!). Luckily I also had Windows Firewall up or I'd probably be screwed.

I've tried setting LNS to autostart as both a system and service, but it never does. Any ideas?

I forgot to mention that I only enable this rule during the few minutes where I'm conducting the sync. Not sure if this is necessary, but I'm not fully confident in my rule. I also have Windows Firewall enabled - doesn't seem to conflict.

The only way I got this to work (I couldn't get the IP address mask in Look N Stop to work) was to add a rule based on my iPhone's ethernet address.

In LNS, I add a rule "ETH - iPhone" where the destination ethernet address = the ethernet address of my iPhone (viewable in the DCHP Clients table of my router), and ports equal to 5353.

Note - if you're IP address gets set automatically by DCHP, it may change occasionally for your devices. If access to Docs to Go suddenly gets interrupted, make sure that you're still allowing the correct IP address through in your router.

I also had to go into Look N Stop and create a rule as follows:

Protocol: UDP
IP Address: Mask > 192.168.0.0 & 255.255.0.0
Port: 5353 & 0

Apply this to both source and destination.

Next, click the "Applications..." button at bottom and add "Documents to Go." OK and Save everything.

Finally, reboot Docs to Go on desktop and iPhone. Should work now <img src="http://forum.werockyourweb.com/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />

Before you begin, you'll need to find the IP address of your iPhone on your local network. You can find it by going into into your router admin (usually via http://192.168.1.1), and browsing to Status > Local Network > "DCHP Clients Table" button. You'll see a listing of the devices connected to your network along with their IP and Ethernet addresses. Make note of your iPhone IP address (if you can't remember what you named your iPhone, go into iTunes and check).

Next, browse to Applications & Gaming > Port Range Forward. On this page, add the application "Documents to Go", start and end ports 5353, "Both" for protocol, and enter the IP address of your iPhone on your local network. Finally, check the "enabled" box and save your settings.

Re-open Documents To Go and see if it recognizes your iPhone now. If not, post below and we'll troubleshoot further.

I just purchased Documents to Go Pro for my iPhone 3GS. I primarily need it to access files on my PC remotely. I read through the Documents to Go documentation, but am stuck. I'm at the step where the Docs to Go desktop app (Windows 7) should be recognizing my iPhone. It's not.

I'm using Look N Stop Firewall on my local PC, and have a netgear router. Any tips on how to get this working?

Hi Jeff,

There's a few things to try:

1) Browse to Start > Run > "msconfig.exe" > Startup tab > and disable the WLAN item ("WLAN network adapter Wireless LAN Configuration"). It should be pointing to something like "
c:\WINDOWS\system32\wlansta.exe /CONFIGURE
"
2) Browse to the location of the WLAN configuration file (c:\WINDOWS\system32\wlansta.exe) and rename it to wlansta.bak.
3) Open up your registry (create a system restore point first!) and make the following adjustments:
- Browse to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GroupOrderList
, and edit the
PNP_TDI
key. (It's value, I'm guessing, is REG_NONE, when it should be
REG_BINARY
). Rename it to PNP_TDI_Bak and create a new binary key named PNP_TDI. Copy (via right-click > select all) all the values from PNP_TDI_Bak and paste them into your new PNP_TDI key.

Reboot and see if this solves the problem.

This is the error message I'm getting while trying to install Look N Stop (LNS) firewall: Error during the installation of the lnsfw1 driver : 11 24

Anyone here at CWD have any idea what could be causing this error? I know I recently tried to upgrade my old PCMCIA card (11b) to support WPA security, but the process was intensive and I'm guessing I screwed something up. I'm hoping there's a relatively easy fix for this...
