I'm using the new "2-step" password verification Google offers on their accounts (in this instance, my Gmail account). I can also set "application specific" password's so people can't login to my accounts from another PC by simply guessing/ hacking my pw.

Problem is, how on earth do I change the gmail pw in Mozilla's Thunderbird? I can't seem to find the pw field anywhere in the settings.

I figure while I'm at it I might as well post all my Thunderbird woes <img src="http://forum.werockyourweb.com/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_wink.gif" title=";)" class="bb_smilies" /> Bear with me please web rockers!

Another Thunderbird email error I'm experiencing is "Error copying mail to Sent folder." It gives me the option to retry, but that never seems to work.

Are any of you experiencing this error? And if so, any ideas what to do about it?

I would have thought this would have been solved now that we're on Thunderbird v5.0? But I still get the error "Error: an error occurred when writing to the calendar Home" on occasion when I try and save a calendar event (Lightning) that's been open for a while.

I think it might trigger when my computer goes to sleep, I re-awake it, and then the events are screwed up? Hope this will get fixed soon!!

I'm using Thunderbird 3.x on a Windows 7 PC, and I got the following error message recently when trying to download a message using MailWasher Pro:

There was an error downloading the following message:
From: [Name]
Subject: [Subject]
This message may contain a virus or there is not enough disk space. Skip this message?

And then it allows me to choose "Yes" or "No." I chose "No," but that doesn't seem to help.

Meanwhile, in Thunderbird when I try and download email, I get the error message:

Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox.

Any ideas?

I'm running Thunderbird 3.x, and I can't for the life of me remember how to change the settings so that my signature is included in emails when I forward. Currently, it only shows up when I create a new email, and I'm having to copy and paste it from a new, blank email into every email I forward, which is a pain.

I think I initially disabled the reply from being included in the forward, but now I can't figure out how to put it back. Any ideas?

Is there a way to manually call up the Thunderbird download window (for downloaded files, also called "saved files window" I think). In other words - if I save an attachment from an email to my hard drive, it quickly shows the saved files window with a list of my recent downloads, but then disappears. I would love to be able to access this to find the location of my downloaded files, similar as I'm able to do in Firefox.

I'm using Mozilla's Thunderbird v 3.1.6, and I have my emails in my inbox sorted by threads. If I select the view that allows me to see only the unread messages in threads, and I want to click on the arrow next to a thread to expand it and see (and possibly reply) to a new unread message within a thread, it won't work.

In other words, I can't expand threads in Thunderbird when I'm in the "unread thread" view. If I change the view to "all" (not just unread) thread view, clicking on the arrow and expanding a thread works fine.

The only way to reply now while in unread thread view is to double click an email message, which causes all the messages in the thread to open. Actually, it opens the latest message the same number of times as there are message in the thread.

Is there a fix on the horizon for this?

Command not expected now? What kind of response is that? LOL

Anyone have an idea if this is temporary or if there's something I need to do?

I recently upgraded my Mozilla Thunderbird 2 to 3, and in the process was asked to upgrade my Lightning calendar add-on from version 0.9 to 1.0b1. I've done this, and in the "add on" section of Thunderbird it says I need to restart Thunderbird for the Lightning installation/ upgrade to complete.

Whenever I do this, Thunderbird restarts, but there's no sign of lightning and the "restart" prompt is there again....any ideas how to get Lightning to work with Thunderbird 3?

I just had my old workstation crap out and had to restore all my files onto a new pc from an online backup. Everything has gone smoothly so far, but I can't seem to restore my Lightning (Calendar extension for Thunderbird) data.

Does anyone know where this is stored and where I might find it? I had my whole profile folder restored, but for some reason the calendar and task data was not restored.

To my detriment, one of these file extensions is .SDB - the extension of the Lightning (Thunderbird calendar) storage file.

Make sure you tell it to also backup this file (storage.sdb, located in your Lightning profile folder) or you'll be screwed if you lose it!
