All of a sudden, Smart FTP won't let me drag and drop files (into either the remote or local folders from my desktop folders). I have a similar problem with TopStyle - when I click a txt htm php or whatever document, it used to open in TopStyle, but not anymore. I have to use the "Open..." dialog to get it to work. WTF?

It sounds like you're running both apps as an "administrator." Right-click the app > Properties > Compatibility > Uncheck the "run as administrator" box and restart the programs. That should do it.

I had a similar problem, but the opposite solution (half of it anyways). This approach works for SmartFTP, but for Top Style, I had to run it as administrator to get the file associations working again.
C'mon Microsoft, when are these annoying Windows problems ever going to end??
