What is the ALPS Touch Pad Driver?

    I'm trying to clean up my PC (before I run defrag) of unnecessary software. When I browse to Add/ Remove Programs (in Control Panel), there's a slew of programs I don't understand, one of them being the ALPS Touch Pad Driver.

    Anyone know what the heck this is and if it's safe to remove?

    It's a Dell utility that powers the "touch pad" you use in lieu of the mouse to control your on screen pointer. I would recommend not removing it unless you don't have a need for the touch pad.
