I've got a dual monitor setup and recently installed InkScape (open source drawing software, similar to Adobe Illustrator). Problem is, when I open a new image within InkScape, the window shows up on my second monitor, but so high up that it goes off screen and I can't drag it back with the mouse. Ie. I'm unable to access it's menu items, which makes it pretty much unusable.

Any ideas how to bring my window back on screen? I'm running Windows 7, 64-bit.

You'll need to access the window using your keyboard. To do so:

    • Hold down the ALT key and press TAB to switch to the InkScape application.
    • Hold down the ALT key and press SPACE to bring up the off screen window's file menu (it may show up on your other monitor, away from the window itself, but it should definitely show up on screen where you can access it).
    • Press the R key to restore the menu in the event that it's maximized.
    • Now you should be able to select the "Move" menu choice with your mouse, or alternatively by holding ALT, pressing SPACE, and then selecting M ("Move").
    • You should now be able to move the window using the arrow keys. If the window went off screen at top, keep tapping the down arrow key until it moves back into your viewable area. If it went off screen at the bottom, use the up arrow key, etc.
